Our products and services > Lead Activity

Thanks to a unique technology and knowledge base, Lead is melted in the shape of ingots of pure metal or alloys, from a mixture of minerals (1st fusion) and lead resulting from recycling used batteries (2nd fusion). The Lead activity is the group’s number 1 activity with 52% of the revenue in 2006.

Each year, Recyclex collects, recycles and upgrades more than 10 million batteries on its sites in France and Germany. Thanks to an extremely flexible industrial tool and a unique crushing technology, Recyclex recycles 95% of a used battery. Today, the group is a key player in recycling in Europe.

In addition to lead and plastic from recycling used batteries, the group can handles a number of kinds of waste sourced from various industries in its first and second smelting plants.

Lead recycling and especially the recycling of lead batteries represents approximately 70% of the production of this metal by the Group. Recyclex's lead refineries have over 80 year's experience in recycling lead batteries.

An important business for the Group, expanding recycling is an integral part of its industrial strategy and environmental protection strategy.
